Feedback from Instructors “The instructors were very professional and knowledgeable. They genuinely care about their students and it does show. They will teach you the fundamentals of riding a motorbike. This class is highly recommended to every motorcycle rider, no matter their age or experience. The instruction in the classroom was thought-provoking and informative. The riding instruction was a combination of both theory and practice, but the real highlight was the instructor feedback. They didn't just say “OK” however, they explained what you did wrong. For example, “You looked down at the handlebars”, “You gave it too many gas”, “Your wrists are bent”, “You shifted too early” or “You were not pushing down on your foot peg”. Then they showed you how to repair it. This kind of personal coaching is the price you pay for a top-quality training course and it is what sets this course apart from other. Some riders might think this is harsh, but my view is that it's imperative to give the student the best chance of passing the test and remaining safe on the bike. I've attended other courses in the past and there was no individual feedback from the instructor. There's no reason why instructors should decide whether a student passes a course unless they are an obvious threat or obstructing others within the group. I believe that any moto school that does not offer personal coaching is missing an important component of their curriculum, and doesn't deserve the high marks they get in student reviews. Taking the Basic RiderCourse and continuing with private lessons is the most effective way to get up and running safely and quickly. Learn from an experienced instructor to avoid making mistakes and begin riding with confidence and knowledge you will use for the rest of your life. Most states don't require written or riding license endorsement tests for students who have completed a specialized RiderCourse and a few insurance companies offer discounts to those who successfully complete a course. Final Exam In the second part of the course you will learn about road skills, such as braking and accelerating changing gears, turning and turning and swerving. This part of the class lasts until you are able to pass a riding skills evaluation. This portion of the class will determine whether you will be issued a motorcycle license waiver card. The test will cover maneuvers that the DMV driver examiner will be looking for in your license exam. The exam can be difficult and if you fail to pass, it's not an end in itself. Just work hard to pass the next time around and continue to work hard. If you pass the test the instructor will give you a certificate of accomplishment that can be used for an insurance reduction for motorcycles. You will be a licensed motorcyclist, and you can legally ride your motorcycle on the streets. The MSF 3-wheel BRC is a research-based and action-oriented curriculum, was designed to teach young 3-wheel motorcyclists (of all age groups) the physical and mental skills they need to safely ride on streets.
